Eden Project Garden

A garden celebrating regeneration and young people's potential to shape their futures, inspired by the landscapes and communities of Morecambe Bay. The design gave young people often overlooked by traditional education a space to explore horticulture, opening a pathway into the green industries.

Suspended on hand-poured geometric paving, a solar-powered pavilion acts as both shelter and classroom. The spaceship-like structure collects and recycles rainwater, sustaining the surrounding planting. Low carbon 'clamcrete', inspired by Morecambe's shellfish industry, was the dominant material, forming both the floating paving and the boundary's vertical cladding.

Planting evoked a coastal meadow of pinks and yellows with pops of blue, chosen for resilience and craft use.
